EKLAVYA MODEL RESIDENTIAL SCHOOL KOTTADODDI, RAICHUR
- EMRS (Eklavya Model Residential School) is a Government of India scheme for model residential school, specifically for Scheduled Tribes across India.
- EMRS is one of the flagship interventions of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India and was introduced in the year 1997-98 to ensure tribal students get access to quality education in the remote tribal areas.
- EMRSs are set up in States/UTs with grants under Article 275(1) of the Constitution of India. As per the budget 2018-19, every block with more than 50% ST population and at least 20,000 tribal persons, will have an Eklavya Model Residential School by the year 2022.
History of the EMRS, Kottadoddi at a Glance
- Eklavya Model Residential School, Kottadoddi is located in the village of Kottadoddi, Devadurga Talluk, Raichur District. This school was established in 2006 on rented building till 2012. In 2012-13 the new building was inaugurated by then Chief Minister of Karnataka Sri.Sadananda Gowda.
- The EMRS Kottadoddi stands as a beacon of excellence in education, consistently earning accolades as one of the top schools in the entire district. Since its establishment in 2005-2006, the school has maintained a track record of delivering outstanding results year after year.
- Beyond academics, the school fosters a vibrant environment for cultural and sports activities, nurturing holistic development among its students. A shining example of this was witnessed in the academic year 2023-24, during the 4th National Cultural and Arts Festival held in Dehradun, Northern India. Mahadevi G. Bhatar, a student of our school, clinched the first place in the dance category, thereby bringing honour and setting an exemplary standard for our institution.

Mr. Suresh Kumar Verma, with a wealth of 22 years of experience in teaching at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya across the Country, currently serves as the Principal, steering the school towards greater heights.
- Our school boasts a comprehensive faculty comprising 24 teachers specializing in various subjects and 8 non-teaching staff. This cohesive team ensures a superior educational, cultural, and sports environment, empowering students to excel in all spheres of life.
